Death Note Child L x Reader My little panda

“Big sis [Y/n]!!” Looking over your shoulder while you were cooking food for the kids of Wammy House Orphanage. You were one of the very few that help with the chores around the Orphanage. In fact Roger, the name of the man that owns the place, is your father.

“Ahh what is now you little boogers?” Two boys being the age of 8 and 11 looked up at you.

“Can we go outside and play play in the snow?” You chuckled and rolled your eyes.

“Of course. Just remember to put on your winter clothes and stay inside the gates.” The boys ran out and kept yelling at each other of what kind of snow forts they should make.  You felt your phone buzz and looking down you were asked to come to your father’s office. After you found a middle aged woman named Mary to take your place.

You enter after hearing him saying “Enter.”

“Hey daddy what is it that you..” You were cut off when you see Watari who was your godfather, and a small boy that looked to be the age of 5. He had Jet black hair and so did his eyes. He looked emotionless at you while sitting in the chair in a odd way. But there was one thing that you couldn’t get off your mind. ‘Panda.’ Smiling you walk over to Watari who stood to give you a hug.

“It’s so nice to see you again Watari.” The man took you into a hug still feeling slightly cold from the cold outside air.

“It’s great to see you again too, my dear. It’s been a couple of years. How old are you again, 18?” You  let out a giggle as you pull back.

“Close 19.”  You then glanced to the boy and knelt down next to his chair.

“And what’s your name little guy?” He gave you a blank stare.

“[Y/n] this is L. L this is my daughter [Y/n]. She works here at the Orphanage and when I pass she will take over.” Your smile widens.

“Nice to meet you L. Welcome to Wammy’s, I’m sure we will get along just fine.” Roger smiles at this.

“[Y/n] how about you show L around the orphanage, then show him to what will be his room.”

“Sure. Just follow me L.” Reaching out you have L take his small cold gloved hand into yours.  

~Times skip~

“Aaand here is my room. If you ever need anything, want something, or want to talk feel free to come to me. Okay?” He only nodded before the two of you continued down the hall. “Alright and here is your room.” It was a reasonable sized room having a bed, desk with a computer, closet, a single person bathroom.

“Well I’ll let you be to get use to your new room. If you need me I’ll be in the kitchen. Oh and dinner will be ready at 6:00 p.m.” You were about to walk out the room when you felt a small hand grab onto your sweater. “Yes L?”

“[Y-Y/n]?” Your eyes widen as this is the first his is speaking to you, but then smiled seeing he was obviously shy.

“Yes L?”

“Th-thank you. For being kind to me.” Your eyes soften and you pull the small boy into your arms.

“You are very welcome Sweetheart.” You feel L wrap his arms around your neck. “Besides how can I not be nice to a 5 year old that makes me think of a panda. Feeling L tense you full back and see that his cheeks were flushed a light shade of pink. “Nhaaaa. That’s it you’re now going to my little panda.”

~19 years later~

L was visiting the Orphanage while having some time off. But after just a couple of days he heard of Kira case over in Japan and decided to accept the case. Mello, Matt, Near, your father, and your 11 year old daughter Lisa stood out by the entrance gate to seem him off. (The father of your daughter was a dick and so you beet the crap out of him, divorced him, and then let him.)

“Please big brother L don’t go. You promised you would tell me stories of some of  your cases.” She clung to the long sleeve of his while shirt. Walking up to her you pull her away.

“Lisa honey you know when L makes up his mind he won’t change it.” Lisa looked at the ground sadly with puffed cheeks.

“I know. But promise me you will call me.” L gave the smallest of a smile, and ruffled her hair.

“I’ll try when I can.” Everyone else said their goodbye’s before it was your turn.  You gave him the biggest hug as if he was your own child. Which you pretty much did see him as.

“It was nice seeing you again L. I wish you could stay a few more days.” Pulling away L smiled.

“Yeah. I’m sorry [Y/n] that I have to leave so suddenly.” You smiled and ruffles his hair the same way that you had when he was a kid.
“It’s alright. I know it’s probably best that you take this case.” Pulling away you suddenly remember something. “Oh wait a sec I just remembered I have a gift for you.” L tilts his head to the side. “Lisa can you please go fetch mommies gift for me?” Lisa gave a wide grin knowing exactly what you were prefering to. She ran inside, and came back 5 minutes later trying to hide the gift from everyone's eyes.  She hands it to you. “L…”

“Yes [Y/n]?” Lisa covered her mouth trying to cover up her laughter. L’s eyes and your smile widened as you placed a panda hat onto his head.

“Be safe my little Panda.”
